The Nicest Kiss

Perched on the ship ramp of the USS Inchon, Kim Gatlin gets the “first kiss” from her boyfriend, Boatswain Raymond Miculob. The sailors, just returned home port to Ingleside, Texas, held a competition for the right to the first kiss after docking. Miculob won after buying one $2 raffle ticket.

Somehow this picture looks strangely familiar.

This is perhaps one of the most famous kisses ever caught on film. Taken by legendary Life Magazine photographer Alfred Eisenstadt, this photo became one of the most famous Life covers to date. This pic captured a spontaneous kiss between a soldier and a nurse, upon their return at the end of WWII. This pic still symbolizes V-DAy and victory celebrated in times square New York and around the world. A beautiful kiss for a beautiful moment.
