This past weekend I saw Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, and I can honestly not remember when a movie has moved me more. From the outset its a very quirky, far out movie, but the heart and central theme is what we can all identify with…A love story like no other. I have to say, I wish I could just turn it on right now and watch it again because it was so original,fresh and timeless as well. A brief synopsis is: a couple have a fight and the man Joel find out that Clementine his girlfriend has had her memories of their relationship removed from her brain by a new medical procedure. The story goes on with Joel deciding to remove his memories too in the face of his hurt over their breakup and her actions. As this process happens Joel revisits his memories and has second thoughts over it all. It is just inspiring and beautiful in everyway. I personally love oddball movies with radical concepts but even if these are not your forte I still believe every romantic heart will be moved by this film. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Ok I’ve finally seen a new movie and it’s one i highly recommend Your boy’s will love it but you get some romance in the bargain too;) I went to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall and I almost peed my pants several times It’s starring Jason Segal ( from How I met your Mother and Knocked Up) Mila Kunis (from ” That 70’s Show” ) and Kristen Bell (from Heroes), along with many other hilarious little roles, seriously I think every actor in this movie did his job, even the tiny roles were hilarious! Its about a musician who makes music for the hit show his actress star girlfriend works on, and basically the chaos that ensues when she dumps him for a British rock star. He takes the break up very poorly and eventually decides he needs a vacation and goes off to Hawaii for some R&R only to run into Sarah and her new beau at the resort he staying at. Anyhow I don’t want to give anything else away, but be prepared to laugh your asses off and maybe be a lil shocked;) The movie starts with in your face male full frontal nudity ( it’s very tasteful and funny trust me ) and ends the same way. Like I said there is a romance within this tale of heartbreak as well, and suffice it to say you and your boyfriend can leave the cinema together satisfied I got this clip from Youtube and it had me in giggles again just watching it so i hope you all like it ( be forewarned it is a trifle risque )Enjoy!
Well this is not my usual type of post at all, but as I’ve been listening to this album all day long I again had to share . Normally not a big hip hop fan, but my gawd this is an amazing album. I have been put off by his attitude in interviews but I have to say girls…. Kanye West Delivers!! The whole album is awesome, so diverse!! Just so different from your average Hip- Hop album, yes it has money and bitch references but it’s a lot deeper on many levels than a standard rap album. And girls I have decided Kanye is my new Idol Everyone bitches at him because he is so arrogant, but arrogance in my opinion is not a sin if there is basis for that arrogance. We need that!! Arrogance does not have to be any worse than having a lot of confidence. I have been pondering this tonight and going over it in my head, and I agree with Kanye more and more and more. As I said in my post from a week ago or so we girls waste so much time berating and denigrating our own and other womens confidence . This is so wrong! Girls men out there are beating us ten times over in the confidence stakes with no cause!!!:) hahah We can do better!! The next time I hear one of my girlfriends say something tearing herself down im going to tell her a reason she is fab and say something arrogant and controversial until they start picking it up!! Well I said I was going to try and start gossiping about my own life and those of my friends and I guess now is as good a time as any to start ;) I know I mentioned in an earlier post that I was having a little romance and would talk more about it later and now finally the time has come I am actually afraid to say too much as I have been one to jump the gun before, and then end up shooting myself in the foot ( I know we’ve all done this but at least then you don’t have evidence of your stupidity on the net for all to ridicule ) Anyhow who cares… caution to the wind seems to be my motto hahah, and I can’t help it… it feels good to be having fun again ;) There is nothing like a summer romance…ahhhhh ;) It was supposed to be a casual relationship whatever that is, but as is very usual with me I kind of feel myself getting attached to the bastard It’s odd for me to feel so comfortable with someone I really don’t know well yet…. but it has been like we are old friends that somehow found out we are attracted to each other. For once I don’t feel stressed out, I feel like we are on the same page and man oh man equality and sanity feels good for once. He is a very laid back and relaxed man and i emphasize the man part Oh yes all me are overgrown boys but this one has his shit slightly more together than the usual and this is a breath of fresh air I have to admit. It is really nice to just have fun with a guy and yet still feel respected….Is it possible to keep this up ? Time will tell, though I have a heavy dose of pessimism but so far so good I feel all girly posting this… i have a little flutter of excitement in my tummy and he is in my thoughts more than he should be hahaha gawd!!! I just know writing this I’m going to regret it but Damn-it !!! Firemen are sexy!!! And bad boys the lot of them my gut instinct is torn!! hahah I want to run on one hand and on the other hand I love it all. Well what I can be happy with now is summer fun and we’ll worry about winter when it gets cold….Scarlett O’Hara strikes again!(yada yada I’ll think about that tomorrow;)) Anyhow Im in a little bubble lately as I’m sure you can tell so I’ll leave you with this little clip that I have fallen in love with and just happens to speak to me now:) actually two!!! the first is by Vannessa Paradis… going through my playlist in Youtube i saw ” L’incendie “ and then the most beautiful stunning Edwina Hayes version of ” Feels Like Home” a version of the Chantel Kreviazuk Hit. How did I forget the greatest chick flick of all time????? Bridget Jones!!! The everywoman extraordinaire! This movie moved me to tears the first time I saw it:) Granted I was 17 at the time, but in some ways I love it more now than I did then. Truly what movie has a greater message than someone loving you “just as you are”. Today woman in particular are bombarded in the movies, magazines, advertising, fashion and even from the men in our lives with how we are not measuring up or need to change…… we aren’t thin enough, fat enough, short enough, tall enough, rich enough, spiritual enough on and on and on. Frankly I have felt besieged by the pressure to conform and all my friends have said similar things to me. Thats why this movie touched me so much. Every woman can identify with Bridget, either because of of her cute chubby little frame, her madcap ways, her loudness, her naughty dressing, her social awkwardness, sleeping with bad boys too soon….there’s something of us all in her and no one can help but root for her to succeed. But I think when my friends and I watched it we still felt that it was some crazy fairytale that could never happen to any of us. Now with a little wisdom and experience under my belt I feel that this is so far from a fairytale. It comes down to each of us believing in ourselves and embracing all those embarrassing moments, embracing our big asses, laughing at ourselves in public and enjoying the things that make us unique and just as special as Bridget. When you love and accept yourself this naturally draws people to you. We woman are often our worst enemies and we cut each down more than men ever could. I’m not a feminist but today I lean that way;) We women, when in conflict with each other the first thing we will do is try and tear each others confidence to pieces. I firmly believe we woman need solidarity, and to embrace our diversities. Since when are we this critical of the guys we date or sleep with? Never, we’ll deal with a fat gut, balding, toilet humor, body hair on and on. And then we allow men to tear us down and at time participate in tearing apart other woman. OK hahah so I’ve gone on a little rant, but seriously women your all gorgeous and all of the idiosyncracies that make us love Bridget should be why we love ourselves. I love my big ass, my loud voice, my bedroom ways and I’m ashamed of none of it!! Well we are working hard on getting our changes rolled out soon, but I didn’t want to leave you all with nothing so I’ve a special treat;) I was watching the original Romeo and Jjuliet from 1968 with Olivia Hussey and I couldnt believe that I had missed this one on here. I watched this film first when I was about 10 and fell in love with it. I was always a fairly dramatic child so even the old English did not put me off. It is directed by Franco Zeffirelli and it is a sight to be seen. He is the same Director who made Endless Love and Jesus of Nazareth and put on many of my favorite Operas ( yes wonder of wonders , I enjoy Opera as well;)). Everything is just so, perfection…all the costumes look as though they were made in the same age. Everything looks and sounds and feels as authentic as Shakespeare would have wanted it. And the two main actors Leonard Whiting (Romeo) and Olivia Hussey(Juliet) are so passionate together, you believe they are madly in love and you are immersed in their story. This is the scene where they first set eyes on each other, It is my favorite by far and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did
I wanted to give our loyal visitors a heads up , and say that there will be a lot of changes coming up for kiss in the next few weeks I really hope you will all agree that they are very positive. We are going to keep updating you on all our favorite romantic movie clips , but just add a lot more now Ive just been a name until now but I want to add a face and hopefully an interesting personality too ha ha ha that part is very debatable but I’m going to try to make this site a lot more friendly and fun. What a morning it has been;) hahaha I was delivered oodles of chocolate in bed! With a tall dark (well dark may be pushing it..fair we’ll say)) stranger there with me!~ ha ha ha I said I was gonna gossip and this morning I am just itching to share;) I got a very nice leather bound diary too but I’m so generous I decided to share with you instead of keeping all my juicy details to myself. Anyhow A lil background on myself Im 26 and have been enjoying single hood immensely after a semi traumatic break up several months back. Life has been filled with friends and fun with a dash of blogging and things have been very good all on there own. This blog has steadily been changing and becoming more fun and interesting to me all the time. Hearing back from a few of you girls who have been checking in on me regularly has been great as well. And last week my lil ol’ blog was noticed by a cool marketing company that deals with Dove chocolate! hahahah I was maybe a lil excited to hear from them;)hahaha just a lil’ So they seemed to like my lil ol’ blog and sent me a shyte load of free chocolate! what an imposition;) Seriously it was and is lovely! Posh Chocolate too! haha Dove milk, dark, and darkest chocolate, my fave It’s a word of mouth advertising campaign and I think it’s actually a very cool idea. I would have done it on my own but who’s gonna turn down a tote of chocolate? haha Anyhow seriously it is right up there with Lindt and you should check it out I wouldn’t steer you wrong;) And about the the tall fair stranger in my bed? hahaha I am really dying to gossip with you all and tell all, but I dont know how to start . I havent been this flabbergasted by a musician in years. All night I’ve been listening to her every song over and over and it seems as if each one is so much better than the last. Everyone RUN and buy SIA…she is amazing, her new album ” Some People Have Real Problems” it is stunning , epic in everyway. This music is an instant clasic and dare anyone to disagree I am in love seriously…personally I believe that the best artists are diverse and dont stay in one little box. Sia is the perfecyt example of what I mean. Her songs go from uptempo dance, to the most traumatic love song that nearly brings me to tears, then onto folk and on and on. She reminds me of a more cheerful diverse Radiohead. I am amazed at her talent and her voice is seriously one of the best I’ve ever heard The clip I’m adding is not even a music video it’s a live radio concert and it is STUNNING!!! Well I felt like changing things up a little lately , and I thought I would ask for y’all’s advice on these new directions I want to go in Lately although I love all the kissing videos and romantic movies posts and my GAWD Gerard Butler ….I still find myself wanting to spread my wings on this site In the past month or so I’ve noticed I’m getting a few regular visitors and I must admit I love that. I didn’t start off this blog as a diary but this is the way it starts to feel to me All these videos I post are things I’ve either loved for years and had to share , or they are new videos that i just cant wait to post right away for you all Lately though I’ve been feeling a bit like Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and The City and I want to take it further. I feel like telling you all about my life and friends…(and more … here in Montreal. So my question is, Is this monumental vanity or would any of you be interested in hearing more? hahahaha For those of you who say shut your trap, too bad! hahah until I get hate mail I think this is a path I’ll go down.
